Hello Linux Geeksters. As the name suggests, the Weather App is a weather application, part of the Ubuntu Touch Core Apps, a project created by third party developers under the supervision of the Ubuntu developers.
The latest version available is Weather App 0.3, which has been recently released, bringing some features and improvements. The developers added some dynamic backgrounds to the application, the colors representing somehow the weather. Red for warm weather, light orange for cold weather conditions and so on.In this article I will show you how to install and test the Ubuntu Weather App 0.3 on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander and Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail.
This is how to install the Ubuntu Weather App 0.3:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-sdk-team/ppa
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-touch-coreapps-drivers/daily
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install ubuntu-sdk ubuntu-weather-app
Since Linux Mint is 100 % compatible with Ubuntu, this app should work on both Linux Mint 16 Petra and Linux Mint 15 Olivia.
