Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, the Canonical developers have decided the three winning applications of the Ubuntu App Showdown 2013 contest. The contest lasted six weeks, and the applications were written in either QML, C++ and HTML5, and based on a beta version of the Ubuntu SDK.

The applications are available installable on Ubuntu Touch via the Click store. The three winning applications are: Karma Machine, Saucy Bacon and Snake.
Karma Machine is a Reddit app with touch gestures, in order to enable the users to easily upvote and downvote articles and comments. It has support for user accounts, has a nice interface and good animations, being one of the best Reddit apps on all the platforms.
The second winning application is an app for managing food recipes called Saucy Bacon, allowing the users to search all over the internet via food2fork.com, save recipes and mark them as favourites. It also allows the users to edit existing recipes or add new ones, including photos of the food taken directly from the camera.
The last but not least, the third winning app is Snake, the popular game from Nokia’s Meego project. A geek ported the old game to Ubuntu Touch via the Ubuntu SDK.
The Ubuntu App Showdown was an opportunity for both fixing manny bugs and getting new apps for Ubuntu Touch.
