The XFCE And KDE Flavors Of Linux Mint 17.3 Rosa Are Now In Beta

As you may know, the Linux Mint 17.3 Rosa images have been released in the Cinnamon and MATE flavors at the beginning of December, followed by the OEM images, for the same flavors.

Today, the beta images of the XFCE and KDE flavors for Linux Mint 17.3 Rosa have been released, the final versions being scheduled for January 2016 and will be supported until 2019.

Like the Cinnamon and MATE variants of the system, the XFCE and KDE flavors will be using Kernel 3.19, will include some update manager enhancements, improved HiDPI support for MDM, driver management improvements and some other changes.

As a reminder, the Linux Mint developers have decided to use only LTS (long term stable) versions of Ubuntu as code-base for their future Linux Mint systems, so Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Linux Mint 17.1 Rebecca, Linux Mint 17.2 Rafaela and Linux Mint 17.3 Rosa are all based on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr LTS.
