Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Thunderbird is a popular email RSS client, developed by the Mozilla Team. The latest stable version available is Thunderbird 17.0.8, which comes with improvements and fixes.
In this article I will show you how to install Thunderbird 17.0.8 on Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia and Linux Mint 13 Maya.

Because it is available via the Mozilla Security PPA, installing Thunderbird 17.0.8 is easy. Just follow the above instructions for a successful installation:
Add the repository:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-mozilla-security/ppa
Update the local repository index:
$ sudo apt-get update
Install Thunderbird:
$ sudo apt-get install thunderbird
