Hello Linux Geeksters. As yu may know, Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS has been released in all the official flavors, getting the Kernel and X Stack of Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr.

So, Kernel 3.13 has been implemented, Mesa 10.1.3 has been added by default and ALSA has been updated to version 1.0.25, support for UEFI has been added and a lot of updates and security fixes have been implemented, among others.

Ubuntu 12.04.5 Has Been Released, The Kernel And X Stack Of Ubuntu 14.04

The Ubuntu LTS systems, the latest being Ubuntu 14.04 and Ubuntu 12.04 receive five point releases, allowing the users to download ISO images containing all the added updated and changes, so that the first system upgrade won’t be huge.

If you are already using Ubuntu 12.04, all you have to do to benefit from the latest updates is to perform a normal system upgrade:

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
