Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, the Ubuntu Community has started porting Ubuntu Touch to the OnePlus One smartphone. While it is still not ready for daily usage, its developer has recently announced that the Ubuntu Touch version for OnePlus One got support for WiFi, the OTA updates feature becoming also available.
While Ubuntu Touch is installable on smartphones, the biggest most difficult task is porting the GSM and the WiFi modules. The are other unofficial Ubuntu Touch ports, but this is the most advanced community adoption of Ubuntu Touch so far.
As a reminder, the first Ubuntu phones are BQ Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition and Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition, while the operating system (Ubuntu Touch) is officially supported on the Nexus 4 device developed by Google and LG.
