As we have previously written, UbuntuBSD is an Ubuntu fork that replaced the GNU/Linux Kernel with the GNU/kFreeBSD Kernel.
A few days ago, UbuntuBSD 15.10 Beta 5 has been released, bringing important bug-fixes, under the hood improvements, made XFE the default file manager instead of Thunar. The system still comes with XFCE as the default desktop environment, the ZFS file system as default and has a Text User Interface installer, similar to the Debian installer.
If you are using a previous beta version of UbuntuBSD 15.10 and want to upgrade to the latest version available, just perform a regular system upgrade:
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
