Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Unity 8 is still under development for now. The latest updates of Unity 8 brings a new design for the Unity greeter-like login menu, with a new wallpaper having friendlier colors. The login box also comes with a round container, notifying the user about new tweets, mails etc, directly from the login screen.
In this article I will show you how to install and test Unity 8 on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander.
Because Unity 8 is available via the Ubuntu Software Center / default repositories of Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, installing it is easy. On an updated system, just install the unity package:
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install unity8
