To upgrade your openSUSE system to the next released version, use the zypper dup command.
If you still have openSUSE 11.4 you can upgrade your system to openSUSE 12.1 with zypper dup:
# zypper dup
When there will be an official released version of opensuse 12.2, you will use the same zypper dup to upgrade from openSUSE 12.1 to openSUSE 12.2.
