Hello Linux Geeksters. The third release candidate if Wine 1.6, Wine 1.6 RC3 has been released today. It is not stable, but it one step closer to the final release.

For Wine 1.6 RC3, the Wine developers have only fixes some bugs. You can see a full list of fixes, in the official announcement.

In this article I will show you how to install Wine 1.6 RC3 on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia and Linux Mint 13 Maya.

Wine 1.6 RC3 will be available soon (in a few hours/days from now) in the ppa: ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install wine1.6 winetricks

Because installing it from sources is difficult, it is better to wait a little, until it will be uploaded to the PPA.
