In this article I will show you how to make the propper configurations in XFCE 4.8 to minimize the windows by double clicking the title bar. XFCE 4.8 is the default window manager for Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin
This is that kind of problem that gets easily done by the GUI.
To fix this, go to Setting -> Window Manager, scroll down and set the double-click action to “Hide Window“.
