Hello Linux Geeksters. As you already know, Google Reader has officially reach end of life (EOL) today and QuiteRSS could be a good alternative.

QuiteRSS is an open-source RSS reader, written on Qt and C++. Keep in mind that QuiteRSS 0.13.1 is not stable yet, so it is not advisable to use it on production machines.
In this article I will show you how to install QuiteRSS 0.13.1 on Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia and Linux Mint 13 Maya.
It is available via PPA, so installing it on Ubuntu and Linux Mint is easy:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:quiterss/quiterss
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install quiterss
