Hello Linux Geeksters. In this article I will show you an easy way for upgrading from Fedora 18 to Fedora 19, without needing to use FedUp, the Fedora Upgrade Tool.

Yet Another Way To Upgrade To Fedora 19 Without Using FedUp

On a fresh started system, just execute the following instructions:

Import the GPG Key:

$ sudo rpm --import https://fedoraproject.org/static/FB4B18E6.txt

Upgrade:

$ sudo yum --releasever=19 distro-sync

At first, yum will only simulate the installtion and try to upgrade all the package from the repositories enabled in the system. If everything goes well with the transaction tests, it will upgrade the system completelly.

Reboot to Fedora 19:

If everything goes well, you can reboot and use the newly installed Fedora 19 system:

$ sudo reboot
